Day 95. High Speed Photography. Again with Samsung Moment Phone at about 75mph. FedEx truck. Another unmotivated shot.
2010-04-04
Day 94. Michele and Maxwell at Tonya's house for the Easter egg hunt of 2010. We had a great time.
2010-04-03
Day 93. A pictureswque tree at the Morton Arboretum. Took this during one of our Saturday Classes for Hort 302.

Day 92. Lighthouse in Evanston, IL. Moonlight from back 10 second exposure. 4am. I liked the dark shadows on the building and the purple haze in the sky.
2010-04-01
Day 91. Taken at about 11:45pm. Moon light. 30 second exposure. Lake Michigan, Evanston. It was a nice quiet night and the temp was very nice, like late spring.

Day 90. Last minute shot with camera phone to keep the 265 alive. I have been struggling and just not getting the camera out to take a picture lately. Oh well. Hanging in there.
2010-03-28
Day 87. Lake St. N/W Corner of Lake and Chicago Ave. Evanston, IL. Moonlight, fast moving clouds. 20 second exposure.
2010-03-27
Day 86. McDonald's drive through in the morning in Rogers Park. Chicago. On the way home from work, stopped to get a little breakfast. I have been eating McDonald's too too too much lately.

Day 82. Maxwell mowing the sidewalk with his lawn mower. :) It felt like winter again today with the cold temps. This is in the front yard at home.
2010-03-23
Day 81. View south in the 1000 block of Chicago Ave. Evanston, IL. 10second exposure. I really like how this turned out with the taillight streak running down the street. The shot had a greenish cast to it so I desaturated every color except red.

Day 79. A picture of a cardinal that was in our garden. I was in the car in the drive way and took this out the window.
2010-03-19
Day 78. Maxwell sliding backwards down a slide. This was taken at a tiny little playground/park not far from our house. We had fun, it was finally a warm day.

Day 73. Thought it was interesting how the camera phone and speeding made the light post bend. This is an oasis, with McDonalds and other restaurants that spans over I294.
2010-03-13
Day 72. We went to legoland in Schaumburg, IL. Max had a great time. It was actually very interesting with lots of things for the kids to do and see. This was a Harry Potter made of legos.

Day 70. Taken out the upstairs window, a view of the front yard, the old Oak tree. Used the Samsung Moment camera phone.

Day 69. This is a silly University of Illinois hat. That we recently picked up. It has a four leafed clover on the side of it and inside it makes the declaration that, "this is a lucky hat". I will let you know whether that turns out to be true or not. At least it fits well.

Day 68. Taken, again on the foggy evening, a little later. The street lights can barely shine through, 25 second exposure.
2010-03-08
Day 67. Foggy night at work. It was one of the foggiest I can remember. Took this at the park at Dempster along the Lake Michigan shore. 20 second exposure no flash, with the camera resting on the car.
2010-03-07
Day 66. Inside Maxwell's bedroom. Taken with the camera phone. These murals were painted by my mother and I and Michele helped although we didn't want her in there too much because she was pregnant at the time. Turned out well.

Day 65. Taken at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL. This is a flower on a Witch Hazel tree. One of the first to bloom. Took this during my University of Illinois horticulture class.

Day 64. Ahhhhh!!!! This is the tree line along the train tracks in Evanston. I had no other pictures, nothing. So when I got home I decided this thing was so ugly (and blurry) that I should just kick up the ugliness another notch. So I jacked up the saturation/contrast and various other adjustments to get this unnatural tree-lined panorama.

Day 63. A view looking east down Davis st from Chicago Ave. 15 second exposure. I was up on top of a building it was late at night. I like the colors reflected in the street from the various signage in the store front windows.
2010-03-03
Day 62. Close up zoom on some icicles that were formed on the rocks on Lake Michigan, it was very cold and dark out. Used a flash.
2010-03-02
Day 61. This is the break wall at Lighthouse Beach in Evanston, IL. I like the look, especially considering that it was completely dark outside, the sky was black but the long eposure time (30 seconds) helped to show the clouds and a bit of blue in the sky.
2010-03-01
Day 60. This was fun. I just placed a tray on the counter in the kitchen. Filled the wine glass full of water, and set the camera on 2 second timer. Then I would try to time it where I would drop a few coins just in time for the shutter to capture the action. I know this would be easier with some kind of audio trigger but we are on a budget here. :) I also didn't really care for the back ground so I played with the "brightness" "contrast" and "black point" sliders in Aperture to darken the background as much as I could without losing detail. I think it turned out okay.
2010-02-28
Day 59. This is a lamp shade at my parents house. My mother bought this at an estate sale for a few bucks and placed it on this lamp. I found it be an interesting shade and even more so considering the modern shade that it replaced.
2010-02-26
Day 57. I really like how this turned out. Driving down Ridge Ave in Chicago. Placed the DSLR on the dash and took a long exposure at low speed. It has a fast paced feel to it.
2010-02-25
Day 56. Banana and oranges. Placed the banana holder on the table with the oranges behind. Then just snapped away until I found an angle and lighting that I felt I liked. I think this turned out okay. Sunlight room.
2010-02-23
Day 54. Old door hinge in the house. These hinges have interesting details on them. And they are all painted over with several layers. This one, and one other, were taken into the garage, soaked in hot water in a crock pot, then scraped and rubbed with paint remover. It was so much work for mediocre results. I decided it probably isn't worth doing it to the remaining hinges in the house.
2010-02-22
Day 53. This was so much fun. Max and I were going to make a snowman but the snow was packing weird. So we make a snow elephant. And we used dried dead plant material from the garden to outfit him with arms eyes and a mouth. We had a great time and Max loved his "elephant."
2010-02-21
Day 52. This was taken with my Samsung Moment phone, using an "FX" program on the phone. It creates a fake/faux fish eye view. Interesting.
2010-02-20
Day 51. Taken while driving on Lake Shore drive in Chicago, IL. I am getting so tired of taking these driving, last minute photos but I keep putting myself in this position because I am not using the camera during the day.
2010-02-18
Day 49. This is the view out front window upstairs of our house. I put the swing out on the old Bur Oak tree when Maxwell was born. He loves it. This was a quick shot through the screen.
2010-02-17
Day 48. This is a china cabinet that was given to us from my parents. The key has always been something of a curiosity to me. Took this with an old pentax mount hanimex 28mm legacy lens that I picked up from a garage sale somewhere years ago. I bought a pentax adapter on ebay for my Panasonic Lumix L1K. It is fun to use old equipment on the digital cam.

Day 47. Corner of York and Western in Blue Island Illinois. The Island Cafe is located here, which is a wonderful little Italian restaurant which is casual fine dining. I like the colors of this building. This is also one of my first photos taken for an interesting online game/concept called noticing.gs
