Day 23. Another quick cheat pic. Taken in my car on the way to work an extra detail at Northwestern. blah. 1 photo a day right?

Day 22. This is at Lighthouse Beach, again in Evanston, IL. Very cold and windy night on Lake Michigan. 30 second exposure no flash. Some on Flickr were saying that it has a Lunar landscape look to it, which I did not notice at first, but do agree.

20/365. Church street boat ramp in Evanston, IL. I like how this turned out. It was a night shot, 40 second exposure. The glow in the sky is from the lights of the city, which fades to black across the photo to the left. Lake Michigan is to the left. This is the line of rocks that separate the boat ramp parking from the Lake.

Day 19. One of many of my cheating photos, or photos where I used my camera phone because I did not have the time to get out the camera and find a shot. Excuses Excuses, but this way I am still getting a photo a day. I will try to do better. This is of my dinner the other night at work, cheese and fruit from Starbucks.

Day 18. I have been taking a photo a day, but have not made time to upload them. So I am doing it now all at once. This one was taken on top of our Toshiba lap top. It did not look very good in color so I tried to do it in b&w with just the logo in color. And you can see by doing that the yellow tint of the can comes out. I know that it is fixable but I am not that good with photoshopping yet, and to be honest didn't really care. On a side note, this stuff is so good. There is only sugar, no "high fructose corn syrup" so there is no aftertaste or syrupy caramel flavor to it. yum.

Day 17. This is a snow plow for the City of Evanston, in Illinois. They are painted by various schools. This one is for Haven Middle School in town. It is a very cool project for the kids. I have been taking a lot of shots at night, during break at work. Since I have switched to the midnight shift it seems that I am either at home sleeping, at work, or driving to/from work. argh.

Day 16. This is again in Evanston (where I work nights, and seem to spend most of my time). It is at the corner of Davis and Maple. I like this photo, with the neon, and the street scape, with the parking meter. I wonder though if it would have been better to crop out the wall on the far right? Ahh well.

Day 15. This was taken on the way home with the Rumor phone camera. I am a cheater, but was tired, and had a long day at work. One of many I am sure. Taken on the Dan Ryan Expressway. Called, "High speed photography". :)

Day 14. Lazy day. Took this from the driver seat of the car, through the windshield. 1700 Block of Maple in Evanston.

Day 13. Took this at night, ISO 200, 25 second exposure. This is at the Dempster Street boat ramp in Evanston, IL. On the shore of Lake Michigan. This is where I proposed to my wife. Love you Michele. :)

Day 12. This old radio sits on our piano. I bought it at a garage sale, a few years ago, it actually sounds pretty good still, and I like the old look too it. No Flash, and used a gas lantern as the lighting. You can see a photo of the light setup on my flickr photostream.

Day 11. Here is the stuff that I have collected for a darkroom. All of it was donated by people who wanted the items gone. I got 2 enlargers, film developing tools, trays, tongs, etc etc. Exciting stuff. Now I need to work on cleaning this room up and setting it up as a little darkroom.

Day 9. This is a dishwasher that my parents bought us for Christmas. Thanks Mom and Dad. :) I was installing it, and Maxwell wanted to help so bad, and then wanted to shine the light under it.

Day 9. Stopped on the way home from work, along Lake Shore Drive and took this picture. It was at dawn, and the scene and buildings were much more beautiful than this photo, i didn't capture it well here. There was a great sunlight shining on the buildings.

Day 8. Been a couple days since I have uploaded to here, busy and been a tough transition from days to midnights. I took this in the morning as I was walking out to the car, it was a couple days after a heavy snow. This is the bird bath/fountain that is on the oak tree in the garden.

Day 5. This is a vase that we have had for a while, it was sitting upstairs and I like the cracked look of it. I decided to "paint with light". I used a mag light that we have and covered it with with a blue cloth and placed it in the vase. set the camera to 10sec exposure, left the light in the vase for 2 secs, then pulled it out, wrapped the light in a red cloth (quickly of course) and then moved it around to get the red "flame" effect. It took about 30 or so shots to get one that I was comfortable with. This was my first time painting with light. I really like the idea and plan on doing more with it. I'd even like to try some portraiture using a soft light to paint the subject. We will see.

I was at work and realized that I had not taken any photos for the day, and the end of the day was fast approaching. So I took a shot out the windshield of the car, actually about 20 of them, and they were horrible. So I stopped and shot this battered flag which was flying in the parking lot at a senior center in town. It is okay, but the focus is soft, it was dark, and about 5 degrees F outside so I was in a hurry. But hey, still on track, 4 down 361 to go. :)

January 3rd. Radiator in the bathroom. It is actually brownish green, but I thought it looked a little more appealing in black and white. Start midnights tonight, so I may be doing a lot of night or indoor shots. boo hoo.

Day 2. This was taken at night, of the house, no flash with the Lumix L1. I don't like the green glow in the back (it's from a green lighbulb used for Christmas). But I left it in there anyways. ISO 800, and very grainy. Oh well.

So here is the start. Already a little self doubt. One picture a day? 365 in a row? Seems a little daunting. But we are off. Today, New Years Day 2010, new beginnings. Here is Mom and Son on the Carousel at Orland Park Mall. Took this with Michele's new phone, HTC Hero. Smile. Wave Hi.
