Day 47. Corner of York and Western in Blue Island Illinois. The Island Cafe is located here, which is a wonderful little Italian restaurant which is casual fine dining. I like the colors of this building. This is also one of my first photos taken for an interesting online game/concept called noticing.gs

Day 45. Another hotel room shot. To be honest I brought my camera on the trip and never took it out except in the hotel rooms. :) oops. But here is our room at The American Club hotel in Kohler, Wi. It was a very nice room. And the hotel is so regal and stately. With old wood trim, chandeliers, beautiful art. It is a very large hotel. But again, the staff here was amazing. And we had two wonderful meals here at two different restaurants. And the best part was the Kohler Water Spa attached to the property. Just amazing.

Day 46. The lovely wife. She was modeling the spa robe, and the awesome jacuzzi style Kohler tube in our room at the hotel. What a cutie. :)

Day 44. On a little vacation. We are on our way up to Kohler, Wi to a Spa for Valentines Day. We stopped here in Milwaukee, by the airport. This is our room at the Hampton Inn. I have to say that as far as budget hotels go, the Hampton Inn has been our favorite by far. Every one we have stayed at has been clean with great, attentive staff. So much so that I would rather just book a room at a Hampton Inn than look around for a better or equal rate at a "nicer" hotel.

Day 43. This is an old stained glass window that was given to us as a gift by Michele's Uncle Tom and Aunt Terri. It is hanging in the window in our dining room and is beautiful when the sun in shining through the window.

Day 42. This was taken on the counter in the kitchen. Old strainer/colander with some Barilla pasta in it. And the star of the show is this delicious Dave's Gourmet Red Heirloom Organic Pasta Sauce. I know it has a rather pretentious sounding name, but this stuff is so good, it tastes like what I would imagine home made pasta sauce to taste like. :) Got it at my favorite store in the world, Costco.

Day 41. A new pot rack in our kitchen. I am proud of the fact that I got this thing up there, and it hasn't fallen down. :) It is quite heavy, and even more so with all the pot and pans up there. I think it is pretty safe, as I found the studs in the wall to brace it to. Time will tell.

Day 40. This is the Rotary building in E-Town. Taken at work via cell phone again. Again lack of motivation and took this as a second thought, through the windshield of the car.

Day 39. The snow. At work, my car prior to being shoveled/brushed off. Taken with camera phone. It was cold for sure.

Day 38.  Taken at night at work.  This is the diesel pump the city trucks use to refuel.  Dirty and icky.

2010-02-06

Day 37.  Another shot from the camera phone.  This is the light fixture in the upstairs bathroom.  Not very "bath-like" but came with the house.  Has a pull cord.

Day 36.  This is one of my favorite pans to cook in.  It is cast iron.  And I love the cast iron because they are so heavy, and heat evenly.  The only draw back is that you cant put them in the dishwasher or really even use soap on them or you will ruin the seasoning, but after you get used to taking care of them, the little extra work isn't so bad.  And they clean up so easily, no sticking.  Love it.

Day 35.  Our cat Buddha, taken with the Samsung Moment phone.  He is on the stairs at the house.  Giving the usual look of, "what the f____ are you doing now?"

2010-02-03

Day 34.  Chugging along with the project.  This was taken inside the car at work, it is the Ford badge on the steering wheel.  So uninspiring.  I am finding that this is becoming more of a "oh crap the days almost over, what do I take a picture of" type of thing.  But I want to finish, so I will continue to take a pic a day, even if it looks like this.

2010-02-02

Day 33. Shot with the new Samsung Moment phone.  As you can see the car is covered in dust from the salt used to melt snow.    Another, "high speed photography" shot, as evident by the speedometer.

Day 32.  A new month.  Here is a shot of a counter in our kitchen.  So many things on here, shoes, lunch bag, medicine, fruits, spices, knives, candle, etc etc.   And I never noticed the pumpkin until after I looked at the picture.  HaHa.

2010-01-31

Day 31.  This was taken with a cheap cell phone in the car.  Red Bull energy drink.  This stuff helps me stay up on midnights.  :)  very sweet tasting and too too too much caffeine.  I would like to cut it out of the diet.  We shall see.  Not a very good shot for the last shot of the month.  One month down and 11 to go.  Yay Me!!!!

2010-01-30

Day 30.  I was at Morton Arboretum for a class on trees and while we were there we wondered onto a course where a dog sled exhibition was taking place.  It was pretty cool, and those dogs can get going very fast.  This is one of several shots I took.  I had never seen dog sledding in person before.  Well, this wasn't really "sledding" true.  As you can see there is hardly any snow here.

Day 29.  Chugging along.  Struggling with this at times but, I can do it.... right?  Don't know the history on this strange piece of art.  My wife got it from somone years ago, and I found it in the closet and put it up in the guest room.  And yes, it is crooked.  :)

Day 28.  Ryan Field in Evanston, IL.  Home of the Northwestern Wildcats.  This was a 50 second exposure taken late at night in the west lot looking east to southeast.  It took a little while to get it framed well enough and get a 50 second window with no cars going by.  I think it worked well too with the Wildcat semi-truck in the foreground.

2010-01-27

Day 27.  25 second exposure of a traffic light.  Was able to time it to get it through all cycles, red, green, yellow.  In Evanston, Noyes at Ridge facing eastbound.  I took it through the windshield, it was way to cold outside.  You can see the glare in the photo.

2010-01-26

Day 26.  This is an old house in Evanston, on Forest Street I think.  Another long exposure.  13 seconds in the middle of the night.

2010-01-25

Day 25.  This is again Maxwell.  He is staring down a cow balloon that my friend Corrie gave me to make with Max.  He loved it, and then he decided that he wanted to hit it, so we spent 20 minutes punching the cow around the room.  :)

Day 24.  I really like the color and pose on this, I wish that he was smiling more, but I like the way it turned out.  This was taken with the Lumix L1.
